The full promotional campaign for SACA's flagship formal — a filmstrip announcement, a countdown series, a five-part "what to wear" style guide, and the logistics posts (FAQ, dress code, song requests) that carried 200+ attendees to the door.
Overview
Bollywood Ball is the South Asian Cultural Alliance's flagship formal at the University of Oregon. Designed during my term as SACA's Public Relations Chair, the 2025 campaign ran as a coherent arc on Instagram: a cinematic announcement, a countdown series to sustain hype, a style guide that made the event approachable for first-time attendees, and utility posts that answered every logistics question before it was asked.
The announcement
A vintage-cinema treatment — a film-reel story frame and a Bollywood-poster teaser — set the tone for the night.
The countdown
A drumbeat of posts in the final week — each one a different visual register, all pointing at the same ticket link — kicked off by a hype-meeting flyer that paired ball promo with pani puri.
What to wear
A five-slide carousel demystifying South Asian formalwear — lehenga, sari, kurta, sherwani — so nobody skipped the event over wardrobe anxiety, closed out by the formal dress code.
Logistics
The unglamorous posts that make an event run — answered in the same visual language as the hype.
